What we believe

We believe the Nicene Creed, sometimes called the Apostles Creed, which is considered to be the defining statement on Christian beliefs. Most Christian denominations accept the Nicene Creed.

"We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,the only son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen"

Our ministry constantly references back to the finished work of the Cross, emphasizing the exchanges that took place at the Cross, some of which are:

• Our sin and unrighteousness exchanged for Jesus' righteousness (2 Cor 5:21)
• Our sickness exchanged for his health (Isaiah 53:4a, 5b, 1 Peter 2:24)
• Our rejection exchanged for his unconditional acceptance (Isaiah 53:3)
• Our powerlessness over Satan exchanged for Jesus' triumph over Satan (Gen 3:15, Col 2:15, Heb 2:14)
• Our self-curses, generational curses and curses from others exchanged for Jesus' blessings (Gal 3:13)
• Our sorrow and grief exchanged for his consolation, peace and joy  (Isaiah 53:4a, 5b)
• Our enmity, strife, national pride and racism exchanged for deep reconciliation that can only come through Christ (Eph 2:15,16)
• Our shame & embarrassment exchanged for his dignity (Heb 12:2, Is 50:7)
• Our poverty exchanged for Christ's abundance (2 Cor 8:9, 9:8)
